AR -> ON…..An inter-country journey of an Indian Techie driving 48 hours, 2000 miles thru the Ozarks, snow-storms and COVID

Take me Home Country Roads West Fork

It's the year 2020 and Emma is still sleeping

I am at my Cabin Studio in the famed West Fingers town with no access to visit my friends or family.

The first year of the lock-down in BFA

With a Canadian PR in hand and ever-degrading legal immigration state of USA, I gave moving to Canada a serious thought with a mix of factors such as my project status due to COVID, future of my PR, and an opportunity after getting a job offer. I knew, the travel would be not as straight-forward during covid, but I trusted my street-smart instincts and beat the concerns of others by successfully entering Canada and switching jobs in these times.

(Day 1: Ozark, MO) Continuing on my Netflix experiences, I passed thru the Lake of the Ozarks in the show me state. The first stop on my 3 dangerous places to visit (Ozark, Chicago, Detroit) before I end up in sugar maple syrup land, I see why Jacob Snell says Man cannot tame what God wishes to be wild.

Day 1 Night: Chicago, IL

Inspired by a G-Eazy rap song and instincts to be bad-ass, I adopted F with me and get some money as my cali license plates. Don't know if Gerald being an SF boy was the reason it got approved 'cause surely far-left liberalism didn't help as the same were denied to me in Ontario.

5 years after getting these and almost no one noticing it across USA (I checked #licenseplate regularly), the most hilarious thing happened when a Chicago cop followed me on Friday night in Downtown. I was wondering, the reason he was following me maybe he's just a 'Chicago Cop', or due to my large collection of baggage all-over my car, or due to COVID closures. As soon as he followed me for a while he pulled by besides me on a signal and said hey man. Scared, I tried to check my seatbelt, had answers prepared for the after-market spoiler and essential reason of travel. But he said "are the license plates I think what they mean". Avoiding the question I counter-questioned swiftly - "Is it legal, then yes". Just when I started explaining he said, I know, he's the rapper of the song fk with me and get some money. Nice!! (and we both started laughing) We parted ways and could tell he was a cool hombre!

Day 2 Early Morning Detroit

Instead of a burning downtown from 1900's I present you the snowy Detroit - The birthplace of American-made durable Ford

Funny Immigration Story

Day 2: Noon, US-Canada Border

A little worried as always with immigration processes, I accidentally exited Canada just after entering it. Trying to correct my mistake before getting detained in USA, I tried to enter Canada thru the exit lane resulting being stopped by the lady guard there. Had to go thru the same lady by saying 'remember me' - I just crossed your border 5 minutes ago, who was previously not happy with my isolation plan!

The very first strange thing I notice about Canada and probably the only different thing plus a good answer for 'what's one thing you wont experience in Canada but in US and vice versa were the red flags. Not seeing the bluish american flag fly over buildings felt strange.
